FAQ

Your questions, answered.

The things employees ask us most. Still curious? Ask PuraFi right on the home page.

PuraFi is the employee-first travel & expense platform. Tell it to book a trip or expense a dinner and it handles the booking, the receipt and the coding. You spend on your own card, keep every point, and get paid back the moment it’s approved.
Every one. Because you pay for work on your own card, the miles, points and cashback are earned by you and stay with you. PuraFi never touches them, it just pays you back the money you spent.
Generally no. Rewards earned on your own card work like rebates on your spending, not income, the same as points from any personal purchase. Benefits-card perks are handled separately: commuter runs pre-tax, and anything taxable reports itself to payroll automatically.
About a minute after approval. Every expense is checked twice at submit, your company’s policy plus an AI review, so in-policy spend approves itself on the spot. Anything else lands on your approver’s phone or Slack as a one-tap yes, not in an inbox for two weeks.
Completely free for you. Your company adopts PuraFi as its travel & expense platform; you simply keep using your own card and keep your rewards.
Yes. Your PuraFi wallet and cards belong to you, with your own setup, not the company. Spend from it or move the money to your bank anytime. No lockups.
That's fine too. Some spend belongs on the company card, it's drawn from the company vault automatically, with nothing for you to claim back. You choose, expense by expense.
No rip-and-replace. PuraFi plugs into the accounting and HR systems your company already runs, QuickBooks, NetSuite, Workday and more, so everything just lines up behind the scenes.
Tell PuraFi where and when. It drafts the whole trip, flights, hotel, timing, already inside your company's policy. You stay in charge: take it as-is or swap the flight, the hotel, your seat. Then it books to your personal card so the miles stay yours.
No. Linking your card is optional, a receipt is all PuraFi needs to approve and pay you back. Your employer only ever sees the expenses you submit, never your card feed or statement.
Barely. Snap a photo, forward the email receipt, or just tell PuraFi in Slack or Teams, “expense last night’s dinner”, and it codes and files the rest. Travel booked through PuraFi needs nothing at all.
You'll know at submit, not three weeks later. Policy is checked the moment you file, so if something's out of bounds you can fix it and resubmit in seconds, before you're stuck waiting on money you already spent.
They don’t have to touch your card. Flights, hotels and other big items can go on your company-funded PuraFi card, so a $4,000 trip never hits your personal credit, and there’s still no report to file. Nobody’s required to front money they don’t have.
Handled for you. Commuter benefits are pre-tax, and anything taxable reports itself to payroll automatically as you spend. No forms, no surprises at tax time.
Yes. Everything is encrypted end to end, funds are held and moved with regulated financial partners, and payments run on Mastercard and AWS infrastructure. Your personal data is never sold or shared, not with advertisers, not with your employer.
